Small Business Certifications
The PERTAN Group has the following small business certifications:
Small Business Administration 8(a)
The PERTAN Group is an SBA 8(a) certified firm. The SBA's 8(a) Business Development Program, named for a section of the Small Business Act, is a business development program created to help small disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy and access the Federal procurement market.
You may contract with us directly because of our status as a certified 8(a) firm. When using the 8(a) contracting method, a program manager may select a firm as a suggested source and request that the procurement be pursued under the 8(a) program.

The PERTAN Group is certified to participate in this program, through which the Small Business Administration provides Federal contracting opportunities to firms located in "historically underutilized business (HUB) zones," encouraging economic development and employment growth. HUBZone contracts can be awarded on a sole-source or competitive basis.
State of Illinois Minority Business Enterprise
The PERTAN Group has been certified as a Minority Business Enterprise firm by the State of Illinois. The Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act is designed to encourage state agencies to purchase needed goods and services from businesses owned and controlled by members of minority groups, women, and/or persons with disabilities.
State of Illinois Small Business
The PERTAN Group has been certified as a Small Business by the State of Illinois. The Illinois Procurement Code established that a representative number of Illinois procurements be designated as Small Business Set-Asides and awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who is qualified under the Code's definition of a small business.
